#problem

Blockbook is a community-driven social marketplace that combines social interaction with buying and selling in a single platform. It addresses the lack of transparency and user control in conventional marketplaces by giving members direct ownership over their interactions and connecting marketplace activity to social engagement.

#what-i-built

• ▸I architected and built the Blockbook marketplace end to end on the MERN stack, owning the MongoDB data model, the Node.js and Express backend, and the React frontend.
• ▸I designed the REST APIs that power marketplace listings, community interactions, and user-controlled account behavior.
• ▸I integrated third-party social APIs to connect social engagement with marketplace activity and support a community-driven experience.
• ▸I deployed and operated the platform on AWS, configuring the cloud infrastructure for the Node.js services and the React client.
• ▸I implemented the transparency and user-control features around how members manage their listings, interactions, and data within the marketplace.
